DNR agrees to close gun range on holidays

Green Oak Township residents living near the Island Lake State Recreation Area gun range may soon be subject to slightly less noise from the range.
State Sen. Valde Garcia, R-Marion Township, announced Wednesday that the state Department of Natural Resources has agreed to close the gun range on holidays throughout the year, and limit shooting hours on Mondays and Tuesdays during certain months.
