deer hunting with a red dot.

I'm new to deer hunting . Can I use a red dot on my hunting rifle an AK VEPR K. I heard lasers are a no no but can a red dot optic be used. I do have a 5 bullet magazine to use and the AK round is a 7.62 X 39. Some guidance would be appreciated--------thanks

Yes you can use a red dot . I have used a red dot on my T C Contender for the last 4 years for deer hunting.

You can use any sight that does NOT project light forward.
I wonder if a sight using radar would be legal?
