I have a Ruger Blackhawk with old style 'pinned in' blade front sight.

The flat black finish has worn off and it is too shiny now - paint will not hold up to holster wear and I do not believe Ruger has replacement parts for this style blade.

What is the best way to refinish this - I can easily remove and send out to the right shop. Does Williams do this?

Can you get 'Universal' front blades that would fit?

Any help is appreciated.

Birchwood casey makes a cold blue that looks like a felt tip marker and goes on just as easy as coloring with a marker. It holds up well when I use it on front sights I only have to redo it 2 or 3 times a year on my most heavly used guns.
