Fiddler suggested I come here and intro myself. My dad put a .22 rifle in my hands for the first time when I was 8. After the box of shells, I was hooked "lock stock and barrel" *sorry couldn't resist*. My dad eventually divorced my mom (she hated my dads hunting stories and looked with disdain at his gun collection), hooked up with my step-mom and that brought more guns into the house. I'm a gun froot-loop like the rest of my family. I recently was suggested a firing range on the recommendation of a friend and I have been there just about every weekend (my previous range was an hour away-This one is only 20 miles away). I love guns, I am an all-American girl that will defend the 2nd Amendment until the day I die. I own a Glock and am very in love with it. The boys think I'm "cute" with my gun, until they see me shoot :upto: I like to let them know I may be "cute" with my gun, but I CAN hit the broad side of a barn too!!! :)

Strawberry, Lemon, or Orange?
Welcome aboard.

I can be as sweet as a strawberry, as tart as a lemon, guess the verdict is still out on anything orange!

M1911A1-Hey I have an idea. Post the froot loops on a 10 yard target and lets see which flavor gets chosen!!
Fiddler-I shoot at the Firingline in Westland. I used to haul butt out to Double Action on 8 mile and Dequinder, but that's like an hour trip for me. I had a friend recommend Firingline and I've been hooked (badly-I might add). I took my CCW there and I am taking the advanced CCW the end of this month (I am also dragging my step-mom along). My son also took his Hunter Safety there last weekend and he is getting a surprise for passing. :) (Why do I suddenly feel that I only work so I can spend all my money there? Ahh but nothing gives me more pleasure!*laughs*)
Welcome John. Man, that Indian River area is beautiful. May be up there this summer for vacation. Any good places to do some shooting in that neck of the woods?

10 yards? Ok, but I think it's illegal to shoot fruitloops in Michigan.

No, no Marty. It's legal to shoot fruitloops in Michigan if they're about to do damage....kinda like coyotes.
Welcome John and welcome Glockgirl. As you can see, we like to joke around and fun. Glad you could join us.

Oh yes, Thanks Lauren! I guess I was thinking about that local ordinance in the People's Republic of Ann Arbor. It's an understandable law, open season on fruitloops would seriously depopulate the area. It's Ok though since Glockgirl travels to shoot elsewhere.

Sorry about not starting my own thread...I got confused...
and since fruitloops are taken out in Ann Arbor, maybe I should start with surrounding areas like Ypsi :P
Ok, a pic? Do want pics of ME or my GUN? *laughs* 8) *look out* :scramble:
It's legal to shoot fruit loops as long as it's under 21 feet and it's a justifiable use of force. So maybe we'll have to post them on a 5 yard target and clamied they attacked us first.
And I like it here. I love people with guns....and a sense of humour...

Oh believe me, if you can get me to talk, I never shut up!!! Just fair warning
and Goldwing-How do you post pics here? And don't worry about the editing...You only had to tell me twice-That's pretty good.
And no, I'm not part Canadian. It's a long story on that one and I don't want to offend anyone here.
I AM getting out more, I go to the range every weekend and I am taking my second class at the Firingline in two weeks. Maybe I better ween myself away from the range in the nice weather and get out to shoot.
I don't mind people talking to me. I had one guy tell me that "a woman with a gun can sit in my trench any day". But then turned around and gave the opinion that he didn't think women could handle a .45 all that well *I rolled my eyes so hard I thought they were permanently stuck inside my head* Gee, and that was going to be my next purchase. Maybe I had better re-think that one (Maybe I'll go Desert Eagle .50 instead :upto: )
Thanks to everyone that has made me feel so welcome. :)

Just below your reply window, there is a bar titled "Additional Options".
Click the arrows at the far right of the bar and it will drop down the options box where you can attach images (Manage Attachments). File size is limited to 100kb.
Either that or you can host them on a web site and just provide the link.
edit: Or just have somebody else do it for you.

Thank you Combat Commander!! I never expected them to be so BIG! Talk about my face being in YOUR face *laughs*
As soon as my friend comes over, I will have Glock pics. The one posted here is of me and my son. Trying to start the 3rd generation of shooting froot loops (PC-Shooting Enthusiasts!) for my family (plus it'll drive my mom crazy).

No doubt about it! The guys at the Firing Line are great! You know, since you enjoy shooting at the Line, you should come to women's night on Tuesday! It's a great deal at only $14 for 2 hours of instruction and shooting, and the women really enjoy getting out for a girls night out at the range!

Maybe you guys can make it to the next Lapeer shoot (once it warms up for good). That's just about the only place I can fire the thing any more. :(
You'll have to bring a good target, too. 20lb propane tanks work GREAT!

I like the two-tone desert camo ones and I like the one bizjak is selling (http://www.migunowners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12957).
The pics are down but it's a magna-ported 26 with an OD green slide. Very cool.

Still hunting for a .45. model 30???
Is that a question or a statement? Am I looking for one? No. I don't like Glocks in .45ACP and .45 GAP is too spendy.
Are you looking for one? Talk to John Johnson.

Don't pick on Hope's gun! She was a very nice lady and is still very missed!
Upon further reflection, I think you may be right about the whole diversity in guns thing. Different strokes for different folks. Looking at a .45 ACP? Well, I never met a 1911 I didn't like (and not just the .45!).
Glocks are fine. They work well and don't need to be messed with. Factory ammo is probably the best bet and 9mm isn't really cheaper reloaded anyway. I will say that the only Glock I've ever really liked was Kane's PornGlock®! For the most part, I really dislike the feel of the the pre-trigger and the way the polymer frame flexes in my hand but that is strictly a personal taste issue rather than a function thing. The PornoGlock® didn't have the pronounced pre-trigger and I didn't feel that little frame twist under recoil like the big 34 seemed to.

Oh, I can keep up, I just fail to see how the outline of the female form scratched on the slide of a firearm can possibly affect trigger feel.
Granted Zip does great work and he has done some very nifty things for me but I can assure you they had no effect on the performance of the firearm.
Heck, when I shot your Glock, I didn't even realize it was the (in)famous PornoGlock®!
P.S. I would think the EAG would have much more effect on trigger feel but logic dictates that a polished sear is what really does the trick.

Besides, then the whole thread runs the risk of being moved to the ammo dump.
