UN to hold Small Arms "Gun Ban" Conference on July 4th
June 10, 2006
Who's John Galt? Blog

While you and your family are Celebrating this 4th of July in one form or another, try to remember what the 4th of July Celebration is about, and what it means, because on that same day and on US Soil the United Nations (UN) will be holding a Conference to attempt to strip Americans of one of the main things the Founding Fathers of the USA gave their lives to Secure in our Bill of Rights so that America would be able to Remain a Nation of Free people.

That thing is the 2nd Amendment, Unfortunately many in this day and age are Unfamiliar with the 2nd Amendment or through some misguided influence promoting an irrational fear are Opposed to the Right it Secures.

What the UN is seeking to do is to pass a Global Treaty which would Outlaw all Civilian Ownership of so-called "Small-Arms" within the treaty nations, now Technically even if such a Treaty were to be Signed by a US Representative it would be Annulled by the US Constitution, however in these times the US constitution is being used for Toilet Paper by many Treasonous entity's in positions of power within the US Government Hierarchy, these same Traitors are also seeking the same Ban on "Small-Arms" that the UN is and that is where things can get complicated.

Why should we pay any attention to this if it is overridden by the Constitution?
simple, if it were to be approved buy the US all it would take is the Wrong people in government to make it Law, and the list of such "Wrong People" is nearly without end.

That is why we must send a Loud and Clear message to our elected Representatives that such a Treaty should never in any way be supported or considered by the USA.

Here is a Fitting Quote from the Book Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.

"There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws."

And this also from Ayn Rand in the Wmail Issue #36

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

Such things could not have been said better.

-John Galt

Well, the NRA has been fighting this since 1996. In 1999 the gun banners from the UN planned a major conference at eh New York headquarters for 2001 betting on an Al Gore presidential victorey. Good thing that failed! The NRA was prohibited from partcipation but John Bolton refused to sanction most of the proposed treaty language and made it clear that the United States will not support that language at 5the 2006 review.

Rebbeca Peters, who is primarly responsible for the Australian gun ban, is heading the UN program.

Wayne LaPierre has written an excelent book on the subject, the NRA included cards to be mailed in its magazines and they will be at teh conference this time. In his book LaPierre expains how this ban could come to pass in the US the Second Amendment not-with-standing. Think the Dems controlling both houses of Congress and a Gore, Kerry or Clinton President. In fact, it could come to pass without a Dem majority.

Scarry stuff.

Yep they can sneak around the 2/3rds majority by calling it an agreement and not a treaty. think NAFTA and CAFTA they are treaties but called agreements so they could pass

UN CONFERENCE ON SMALL ARMS BEGINS . . . The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute, which holds UN non-governmental organization status, will make a statement during the June 26-July 7 UN Conference on Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons, underscoring the right, value and tradition of firearms ownership in America and elsewhere in the world. Billed as a review of progress made on a 2001 program of action to address illegal trafficking of small arms, the conference is viewed by many as backdoor global gun control and, obviously, a direct threat to the Second Amendment. More than 100,000 letters have been sent to conference chairman Prasad Kariyawasam of Sri Lanka through www.stopungunban.org protesting this potential assault on a basic American right. Read a CNN story about it.
