Has anyone tried Jim Shockey's black powder substitute? What did you think of it? Is it really as clean as the ads say it is?

I have not only used it, but recomend it. It is as clean as they say. Having culled deer in the Metro parks during the muzzle loader season and having shot more than 20 during a single day and never having time to clean the rifle. I experienced no misfires, hang fires or trouble loading from the first shot thru the last.

I have used american pioneer and after previously using triple 7 i will say that it is clean however i had a couple misfires and the pellets dont fall down the barrel like the 777 pellets do. I have had no problems with 777 but its a mess.

The BEST black powder substitute period.
No need to clean your ML after use.
I'm not sure the Shockey labeled stuff is any better than the American Pioneer label, but their both excellent products.
Wow must be my gun i have nothing but issues with it in my ultimates lousy accuracy extreme spreadsin numbers maybe ill try it in my omega's

I believe that Shockey and Ameriaca Pioneer is one in the same. Correct me if I'm wrong. I have been using the 777 and it is a mess. Two shots max before you have to swab it out.

i shoot my omega and encores (2) with 2 pelltes of the pyrodex and have 2" groups 100 yards
the 2 pettets of 777 and the gun prints a bit higher but close sizes
the 777 is more of a mess then pyrodex but can get 3-4 shots but loading gets hard as can be
as far as cleaning i use knight EZ clean and no mess plus it dont stink too bad the 777 smell like rotten eggs more then pyrodex did
guys are talking about making a solution of windsheild washer and rubbing alchol
