Anyone here into "not current production" Marble's knives?

I have a few Marbles gems, although I don't consider myself a collector. I'll post a few photos later.

Mainspring , What are you looking for? I know that Fred Troast's wife has a few that she has been trying to sell on e-bay, I think that she had 4or 5 different models to choose from and the price was right on them. I think that I bought one of each 5 total.

I'm not really looking for anything...just wondering how many others like 'em. I was really happy when the Stewarts raised knife production at Marble's from the ashes in the 90s. Then I was really, really disappointed when Jason & Mike were let go and Marble's started selling crap knives. I've got a file cabinet drawer full of 97-01 models and old "vintage" examples. The supply seems to be drying up a little...most of what I see on ebay are the new crappy ones.
I noticed that Jay's used to carry a full line of Marble's, but now they carry knives made by former Marble's employees instead. I find that interesting.

They did that a number of years ago, don't know why. I'm sure the knives of the new outfit are good, too.

I have a newer crappy one that somebody left here after cutting up a deer.
I don't own any of the old ones but...still have a compass that I have had for many, many years.
Somebody posts some pics...

While not a knife, this is apparantly a real prize for Marbles collectors. It's an un-opened lead top oil can. I've had guys offer me stupid money for it. For whatever reason, I haven't let it go.

What's significant about this knife, besides its age, is the black bakelite pommel. Pretty rare.

I also have some old complete cleaning kits, sectional cleaning rods in green canvas sleeves, compasses, ect.

Karcent - That's a nice Ideal you've got there. They used those bakelite pummels during WWII due to aluminium rationing, and for a few years after the war until they had used up their supply. About 25 years ago I spent the day trying to whack harmless woodland creatures at Proud Lake Rec Area with an Ideal very similar to yours on my belt in an original sheath. When I got home, the sheath was empty and torn around the rivets (the stitching had long since rotted away). That was the last time I carried a vintage Marble's in the woods. And yeah, I'm still pissed. LOL
