I have a H&R Handi Rifle and I am considering a muzzel loader (from the factory) barrel for it.

My options are:
50MS 50 Cal., 24" Stainless Steel (1 in 28" twist) $113.00
(Includes Williams fire sights, ramrod, forearm, breech plug wrench and five primer carriers.)
M03451 50 Cal. 26" Stainless Steel (1 in 28" twist) $113.00
(Includes Williams fire sights, ramrod, forearm, breech plug wrench and five primer carriers.)

Which would you recommend, the 26" or the 24"?

If I had a opinion on 24 vs 26 I would tell you but mine has a 28 inch (CVA Kodiak). I like it.

depends on what you are using it for

in a tight woods/ treestand use the 24"
open fields 26"

the differnce in the 2 is minor (like 26-28-30" shotgun debate)

the is a difference in velocity but not enought (IMHO ) where you will notice

the 24 will be lighter to carry and slower velocity

i would buy the 26" why why not

im not a big fan of short barrels (my woodcock shotguns are 28" and 30" swings better for me) were lots of guys shoot 24"

my omega ML is the standard as are my 2 encores

A little more velocity from the 26", probably no more than 100 fps; not enough to make it a deal breaker.
Any chance you can handle both set-ups to check balance? The longer bbl will increase the weight slightly and move the point of balance forward a bit, but the impact on the shooter is subjective.
The 24" is a bit easier to tote in brush, etc., but that probably isn't a bit factor.

Personally? I'd go with the 26" tube. I like the longer sight radius, the increase in muzzle weight (reduces perceived recoil for us sensitive types!) and I do like the slight increase in velocity.

Please let us know which way you decide, and give us an evaluation once you get the chance to play with it a bit. Good luck, and enjoy!
