Well, I didn't get a deer (yet), but I was able to impress yet another person with the effectiveness of my Y2k marked Marble's #9 Belt Axe. That thing is a cutting machine. I just got done polishing all of the sap off of it and it's ready to go again. I've said before that I'll not use a knife that can't be replaced again (since I came home with an empty Marble's sheath from one hunting trip), but I just can't help myself. I love that little axe and what it does.
I've been thinking of replaceing it with a Gransfors Burks at some point, but until then I will keep using this little, easy to carry cutting machine.

Can you post a picture, please?
I'm leaning towards the SOG Fusion Tactical Tomahawk; a modern rendition of the belt axe.

I'll work on pics. Good Marble's stuff is getting hard to find...since about '03 or so...when they let all of the talent go...all they've produced is imported crap. But the good part of that is that a lot of other really good makers have popped up in the Escanaba/Gladstone/Rapid River area...guys who used to make the quality product that Marble's used to make. Bark River Knives and Rapid River Knives are two notable examples. There are two or three others who's names escape me at the moment.

Here are pics of my beloved Y2K "stamped" Marble's #9 Belt Axe. The sheath was made by Jack Mosher and although not factory original is slicker than snot. The last I knew Jack was making the sheaths for Jim Behring's Treeman knives and axes http://www.treemanknives.com/.
