An un-solicited opinion...

I took a class with Live Safe a number of years ago, and felt they were a top-notch operation. Class size was excellent, instructor knowledge excellent, and the entire class was well managed. Instruction was taylored to the individual, as much as possible in a group environment, without bogging down the session.
The more advanced students wernot bogged down by the less experienced, and the beginners were not left in the dust of the advanced.
And, most important to me, when I left the class I was a better shooter than when I arrived, and my observation is that everyone there that day could make that claim.

A CPL class, a few years back.

I was thoroughly impressed with the way the class integrated experienced shooters with beginners, and yet managed to provide value for both ends of that spectrum.
The gun handling/shooting portion of the class went way beyond basic marksmanship and handling, and instilled techniques that were easy to comprehend & master, and were keyed to the physiological responses and abilities of a person under extreme stress.

I have since employed the same techniques while introducing new shooters to the sport, and have met with great success in helping them develop their shooting skills.

Ian, what will Lou be doing in October? I've had a couple classes with him and he is always great.

Does the location in Warren have a shop? Can I visit at lunch or is it a training-only facility?

I notice you are affiliated with Spy Ops. I used to work in Southfield and would go there often. Great place to buy Airsoft gear to train with and shoot the breeze with the guys.

If I am mistaken, my apologies.

Hi Brad, it's great to hear from you. Thank you for your kind words. Lou will be teaching a Phase 3 class on Saturday and a long gun workshop on Sunday, both with Airsoft. Because we will be at MTAC, we will be able to incorporate training exercises not possible at other facilities.

The owner of Spy Ops is also the owner of MTAC. MTAC does not currently have a shop but folks can still buy whatever gear they want there. Access to the facility is by appointment only but I would be happy to give you or anyone else a tour.

As the MTAC Director, I would like to setup a range night where patrons can shoot interactive targets in a traditional range layout or go through the various training stages (i.e. “shoot houses”). This will be far more economical than live fire and participants will be able to practice skills not permitted on commercial ranges.

Thanks for the follow up Ian. Strangely, Pam and I were just talking on the way home from Holland tonight about your "Edged Weapons" class. Good class to take guys and gals.

I assume that the classes will be FoF with Air Softs?

Thank you again Brad. Sharp weapons is one of my favorite classes to teach.

There will be a lot of interactive shooting drills in Lou’s classes but I don’t know if there will be simulated assaults like in the LSA programs that I teach. Interested parties are always welcome to contact Lou directly. His website is www.gunfightersltd.com. Lou is very friendly and always happy to help.
