Hey girls........so by my title you can tell that I am new here. My husband has been frequenting the site for quite a while. Well I decided to join as well. I just bought my very own hand gun tonight. I've shot tons, but have never owned one for myself. I am very excited about this, we went to On Target guns here in the KZoo and a nice lady helped me out tonight. I am totally excited about this.....my husband and I were talking and I'm thinking I am going to start practicing to shoot competitively. I just wanted to introduce myself, and I look forward to getting to know each and everyone of you over time.

Welcome to the forum. IF I'm reading this correctly , do you have pixs of your your sigma on myspace? Please , get rid of all those pixs pronto. Myspace has gotten many into a pickel. Myspace has been used against many in many different ways. For example, an employer could view those pixs as threatening.
On a different note, any suggestions on getting my spouse into shooting with me besides kidnapping.

There's safety in numbers. At least that is what my husband tells me everytime he buys a new "member of the family".

So then....my wife really does understand why there are 3 Airweight J frames floating around here and another J frame (Model 60) with our daughter at grad school? Safety in numbers...I like that...

Hi LeAnn
I'm new here too. I've been wanting to pay a visit to On Target!
I'd like to shoot on a league and was thinking of going to Southside in Battle Creek. I'd use my Walther P22.
I also have a S&W 642 .38SPL 5 Shot and am in the market for a Glock 22 .40 - yes...I'm addicted. Grew up around shotguns as a kid and always wanted a handgun. Now I've got a few! :)

Hi Dobie...........we should get all of us girls together and go shooting one sat. or something.....and then maybe get some lunch or dinner......a girls day out......that sounds fun. And WELCOME

It's nice to have the ladies on here!! :) My wife is an Officer and carries at work but really doesn't like guns. She always says if she didn't have it for work she wouldn't have one. Of course I make up for her lack of them by getting multitudes for myself :D
There's nothing sexier than a woman with a gun... unless your on the other end when she's pis'd at you!! :p

I'm new here too.
Not new to being around guns though.
I just my gun Wednesday a Ruger MK III Hunter bull barrel, in blue with the Crimson Trace grips.
It's name is LB, short for Little Bull. I'm not certain of the gender yet, I'll know after I shoot it this weekend.
Probably a girl compared to hubby's GP100.

Exactly what area? We shoot up in the Rochester/Utica/Troy area at the Detroit Sportsmans Congress, mostly.

I adore the P22, but will probably get a revolver instead...there are some advantages to a revolver that I like that I think might be worth taking the time to get used to it. But the P22 sure is a sweetheart, and sexy to boot. Do not know what model of revolver I'd want...would have to try a few. But I have quite a while to decide.
And yep, I'm in Metro Detroit.
What do you all carry for defense?

Hi, I am new here too. I've been shooting for a while and have my cpl. Why do I carry, you ask? Because I can :). I recently bought a nice Jensen .22 from rifleguy. What a fun little plinker! The gun that is, not Rifleguy!

Welcome 1wildchild, congrats on the Jensen.
From Rifleguys own self descriptions I wouldn't call him a "little plinker" either, but he certainly seems like a fun person.

Were/are you asking me?
No, I am not offended at all. Some of the women on the forum may be but that if for them to decide.
I do not get offended very easy. I just don't want people to come across sexist comments and stereotype all gun owners.
Like I said, I do not believe he meant it in a sexist way at all. Everything I have read that he has posted he seems like a good guy and tries to get along with everybody.

New here as well. A little about myself, I've had my ccw since 2002 bought my first handgun in 2004 it is a kimber stainless II 1911, between 04 and 06 I didn't shoot much cuz I couldnt hit the broad side of the barn if I was standing on the inside. In 06 I met a man who is an avid shooter not to mention a range instructor at the Jackson prison. He taught me to not only shoot but I shoot very well and his friends say they dont ever want to run into me in a dark alley having larengitis. lol. We bought matching Smith and Wesson m & p's .40 compact in 2008 (LOVE IT) and he recently gave me what we call "pocket rocket" .22 long rifle revolver, it's about 4 inches long and weighs next to nothing, I call this my summer gun because I can wear whatever clothes I want and it fits in my bra completely concealed by my well you know. It at very close range would have stopping power but would definitely put the hurt to someone coming at me. I think every woman should have one of these.
I would love to hear some feedback from other women as to what they carry. I currently carry my Smith and am trying to sell my full size Kimber to get a compact Kimber. Have a great weekend everyone......
