Has anyone taken an all women's tactical class? I think that would be a great class to take. Of course, if there are no all women's classes, I won't be opposed to showing up the men!

I have never heard of a women-only advanced class. Not sure what you mean by "tactical class" but if you mean advanced pistol (beyond the minimum for a CPL) then I can highly recommend Rob Reed's advanced pistol class. I think he has one coming up May 16 or so in Williamston. His username here is Trebor. He's a great instructor and down to earth - my wife has taken his basic and advanced courses and quite happy with both, and she is easily irked by "drill instructor" types.

Full disclosure: I'm friends with Rob and occasionally teach the legal portion of his PPITH (basic CPL) course.

What I am really thinking about is a class that will introduce me to competition shooting on a course. I just starting getting interested so I don't have all the jargon down jet :roflmao:

I think you may just want to try out an IDPA shoot. There are quite a lot of clubs that host IDPA - Capital City Rifle is one, but one of dozens. I'd check with your local club and look on the competition forum on here.

"Defensive" and "competition" circuits can be quite a bit different from each other. They both share a lot of the same ideas but in other respects they are worlds apart. I would define what style you are looking for and find an organization to fit what you want. There are a lot of good ones for both sides of the coin here in MI. Depending on how new you are a handgun 101 course or familiarization class might be a good idea to start with.
