What a day it was yesterday to be shooting. I was very glad to have another member from the forum come out. Thank you RPM06.
I must declare...I'm completely hooked on 220yd.(200meters), target shooting with my ML Encore. Next time I go to Multi-Lakes, i should be able to start right out shooting the 200m range.
I understand why I had to prove my worth at 100m, safety and all. The back-stop wasn't that high. I myself have seen some pretty bad behavior at various ranges, State run, and private.
So after about 7 shots, I was approved for the 200m backstop. Yeah!!!
I've been shooting this Encore for just over a year, at 25, and 100yds., I was DYING to shoot that far.
I first stayed at the 80g of BH209, like usual. Through my scope, I lined up the bull with the 2nd line beneath the top(center) cross hair. The bullet impacted a full 12" below aim point.
Once I increased the charge to 90grs., things started to come together. I had 3 groups of 2 shot strings, to average group size. I figure I can figure out which yardage mark to use later. As I was cleaning between each shot, I didn't have the time for three shot, or 5 shot strings. Next time.
The 3 groups I measured an average of 1.3-1.75" respectively. I can't wait to get back there soon.
