...on me this evening when I went to the fishing dock while her kids were fishing (with illegal lures). Park rangers moseyed in to check me out, but of course there wasn't any problem, and we parted friendly. Although they weren't sure if it was legal for someone to open carry if they had a CPL (!). We discussed it a bit, and they went on their way.

A LOT of people think it's illegal to open carry if you have a CPL. I have yet to meet someone who doesn't belong to MGO that knows you can OC with a CPL. My dad still doesn't believe me, and I've cited laws proving otherwise.

At least nothing came of this. I would've ratted on them about the lures. Maybe I'm just an a-hole, though.

i got into a conversation about this yesterday. Everything I know of points towards being able to open carry. I dont see why not....

In the county special rules, it's illegal to use artificials or minnows directly downstream of Holloway dam from March 15 till the Saturday after the last Friday in April. The walleye and pike are spawning, and they want to cut down on 'accidental' catches at this time of year. Mott lake is the next impoundment downstream, and is limited to worms, cut bait, liver and such. Basically catfish and panfish. Two of the kids were using spoons and crankbaits...

After calling 911, mom loaded 'em up and scooted.

HUH...I wasn't even fishing today myself. I was looking for a guy I had promised to give an old Coleman lantern to, but he wasn't there. I politely told the kids that they should switch to worms so as not to get ticketed, and this is what it got me LOL...

I'm fishin' tomorrow, though.

It would be hilarious if there was an OC fishing mob there one day though.
