So how did it go?

It went great we had about 12 people there. The manager stopped by and said thanks for coming in. We were there about 3.5 hours and had some great conversations. I hadn't been to a Bob Evans in years, the food is pretty good, better than I remembered.

Venator, when you set this up, did you tell the manager you would be OC'ing, and if so, what was their response initially?

I just read the link in your original post which had their email. That's a great reply from them. I'm very pleased to read it.

I was very happy with their response, both from the managers(all of them) as well as corporate. Jamie(the general manager) and I talked a bit, and his concept was "if you want to carry a gun, I'm not going to ask you to leave. If something happens I might call you over." I was very impressed at how supportive they were about it all.

I thanked them again before I left and they wanted to know when we would be back again. They said they would be more than happy to have us on a regular basis if we decided to do so.

That's very cool. It will certainly change my perception of their restaurant and its management.

Do you think this will translate to their other restaurant locations in the state?

Print out the email response from corporate and take it with you when you talk to the Manager. Generally we don't ask for permission to OC we just do it and deal with it if we have to.

Some of the local organizers do like to ask first which is okay, and if the local manager refuses we go to the corporate office and deal with it at the national level. So far we have had very good luck with this approach.

MOC is also working with locally owned businesses and have had a few post PRO Carry signs.

If you know of any business that allows OC please PM me with the name, address, phone number and if available a website.

Dear Jerry,
The Home Depot Customer Care is in receipt of your email. We appreciate you taking the time to email us. Our general policy is not to ban customers from carrying firearms on the Home Depot property in those states having a concealed firearm law, provided they are carrying the firearm in accordance with the applicable laws.
If the firearm is not concealed in accordance with the carrying permit (typically that means concealed and cannot be seen by members of the public), it is up to the manager based on personal comfort level to approach the individual directly and request them to leave the premises or to contact local law enforcement for purposes of having the individual removed. Thank you for contacting us.
Sincerely,

Wish I could have been there, oh well sounds like there will be a next time! I am coming home on leave from the 30th to the 3rd. On the 30th I am finally picking up my M&P40c from Schupbachs, as long as Jackson PD doesnt give me any crap getting my PP that morning. I am planning on OCing right after that with either the 40c or my Ruger, can anyone recommend a good place to eat that also has decent food for a 5 year old? Havent been home for a while....
