My brother told me about this site, after I asked him how and where I could learn more about carrying and the mind set one would want to have in doing so. I asked him (manic mechanic) where he learned about MGO, he thinks he picked up one of your pamphlets' somewhere. Either where he took his CPL class in Monroe or Westborn Gun Shop where we have both made purchases.

As far as I can remember, I found MGO through a Google search for gun forums. I think that I had already discovered Glock Talk and SigForum because that's what I owned at the time and since I enjoyed them, I searched for more and here I am. ;-)

I first hear of MGO through a member, who is also a member of my Sportsmen's Club. Our member talked up MGO and made arrangements for Tallbear (Mike) to talk to us at a meeting. Mike impressed the membership enough that a motion was made from the floor to affiliate our club with MGO. Motion carried. (by our rules, that makes it a directive for the Board to follow up on) So, here I am (and several others too).

Totally by accident. I never dreampt that I would eventually own a gun or take the stance that I now have. It's due to the changes in my neighborhood (and my country) that I realized that I needed to take matters into my own hands, not depend on the police to protect me. I have learned sooooo much since then. Good friends had been urging me to get armed. I finally listened to their advice on which gun would be suitable, took the home protection class, joined the club where I took the class so that I could continue to get excellent advice and help. SAFETY and confidence handlling a gun are huge factors with me since I hadn't fired a gun since the early '60's when I was a girl and couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Now I know why and I don't miss.
This is a fantastic forum for me because I have much to learn and another resource
