I've wanted a Randall fighting knife for many years and now I have two.
A model 15 "Airman" with saw tooth back and a model 25 "Trapper".
The quality is outstanding and they both just melt into your hand. Balance is perfect.
There is currently a 58 month wait to get one of Randalls knives and they limit you to one order every three months. That's 2014!
Now if I can just score an original Loveless. I sure wish I had ordered one when I was 17.

beautiful workmanship. found one on a rice paddy berm in 1965 north of hue. only took two days to find the owner. back then it was more like a year to get one.

Thanks for your service!
Nam era Randalls bring a pretty healthy premium. I'm sure the owner was glad to get it back!

Imagine that, wanting a knive made out of Flint!
(or had steel be discovered by then?)

Steel was relatively new when I was 17. That's why I wanted one so badly.

WOW, those are really nice blades man. I would love something like that. All I have are Kershaw and Benchmade folders myself.
Very nice!

I love my Benchmade Griptilions. (I have several) They've taken a lot of abuse.

Congrats on the Randall's.....I like them too and have a half dozen. The fourth from the top, a Model #1-7" w/black micarta handle was a gift from my dad when I joined the Army. I carried that knife for four years as an Infantryman and used it for things that would make a Randall collector cry....LOL. I didn't buy them to stash them in the safe though (grin)

That's a very impressive group of knives! I'm more than a little jealous.
I plan to give that model 15 to my Son when he completes basic.
He enlisted a couple of weeks ago and leaves in August.

I used my HS graduation money to buy a Randall #14 from a dealer working out of his house in St. Clair Shores because I didn't want to wait the year to order one. Back then, with the dealer's mark-up, I was able to score the knife for about $220. I quickly had it engraved with my name and "US Army" so that I wouldn't be tempted to sell it when I surely would need beer money in the barracks. It served me well on my LBE for 5 years, and for clearing trails and shooting lanes in Da Swamps ever since.
in 1968, from Randall, my name is on it (they offered that service back then). I ordered the 14, bought a Trout and Bird from the case in the shop (there were several knives for sale at the time but I could afford the Trout & Bird which was under $100 as I recall, you can't buy anything out of the case now) when I placed the order, and I took an orange from the tree my car was parked under.
The orange was very warm and sweet and my knife came about four weeks later. I cannot recall what I paid for it but it was less than the model 10 I ordered six years ago and got about two years later.
I always wanted a model 10 with a red micarta handle. It is still in the shipping box from Randall, I wouldn't dare use it now. My 14 is well used, carried, stained, and sharp as I can make it, though now, it too sits in a special case.
I am now packing a Mike England survival bowie and a Bob Dozier Personal Utility.

If you guys ever get drug to Theme Park Hell in Orlando as I do every couple of years the Randall factory is in Orlando just a few minutes from the Theme Park Hell locations. There isn't much there, but it's free and they do have a few things to check out. If you're both a real blade geek and lucky you can even talk with some of the grinders there, and maybe get a tour of the "factory", as it were.

It would be cool to get one of those.
