Im getting ready to take the ccw class. Is there anything that i should need to be aware of before hand? What are some things i will need? Ive got the ammo for the class but am i going to need a holster or not? Going to be taking the class at viper security in kalamazoo has anyone else taken it there? Thanks for the info :getsum2:

Buy more and more ammo. It's addicted, you can't stop shooting when started.

Eye and Ear protection. No low cut shirt. Practice & Shoot your pistol prior to class. It will let you focus on shooting when you are class. Try not use a unreliable handgun, a good pistol can run $500 to $700.
Learn the 3 rules of Gun Safety or the 3 ALWAYS. Keep the pointy end down range at all times. http://www.nrahq.org/education/guide.asp
Most of all have fun, but take it serious you are now taking a positive step towards self-defense of yourself and family for the rest of your life. After class keep training don't throw you pistol in a drawer.
If you have questions after, ask them here there are alot of qualified instructors at MGO.
You will do fine & Good Luck

If you have no experience with the pistol, find someone to help. You have chosen wisley the XD is a fine choice. I am a glock person. Started out with a Colt Python with the royal blue finish, I miss that gun.
Good Luck

A baseball hat is an addition item we ask the student to have with them. It keeps brass from getting between your glasses and your eyes. Also no open toe shoes.

The above posts sum it all up very well as to what to bring. With you mind setup like a sponge to soak it all in along with a positive attitude you will have a very good day of training and learning!!!

You have recieved great input. I would strongly recommend that you contact your instructor/class provider and find out from them what you are expected to know or bring before class. That information should be very clear to the prospective student.
