View Full Version : Women Concealed Carry

I know this is going to be a tremendously broad question, so I will try to narrow it down as much as possible.

My girlfriend is in the market to carry concealed, but the carry options for a female are so much more limited. I don't particularly like the idea of "ankle carry", and fanny packs are such a fashion no-no than I know that won't fly. My girlfriend is relatively small, 5'6" and slim/average build. In general she wears relatively form fitting clothing.

Obviously something has to give in order to achieve IWB type carry. She is thinking something along the lines of a Glock 26 or the new Walther PPS Slimline. I like the Slimline or another single stack weapon since I think getting something as thin as possible really will help conceal and still be comfy.

So, are there general resources or starting places on the 'Net? Your suggestions are appreciated.

The slimline is diminutive, but do not over look Kel-tecs, Kahrs, and the good ole J frame (or its many "copies").There are lots of carry options available that include things like pocket clips(ie Clipdraw, Hip-Grip, etc), belt pouches, pocket holsters, day planners, Purses(I have a good deal going on these at my store, go to:
http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/pages/The-Discerning-Shootist/63581241172?ref=s
for the offer).
You are right though, most holsters/carry options are geared towards men, and look at all the trouble we have finding the right one. Everybody has a box full of holsters that don't work right?
Any way I can help, PM me.

Some might consider it a mouse gun but my wife carries a P3AT daily, mostly in her front right pocket. She's 5'5" and curvy. She also has a nice Galco leather holster for OWB carry. She has tried other methods but keeps coming back to her Nemesis holster. She has even added stitching to the pockets of her cargo shorrts to hold her spare magazine upright.

I bought a fantastic purse on ebay. This seller carries herself and has designed a line that is affordable and very practical. I love my purse which has a holster inside and you wouldn't know it. I am new here, not to other forums and I am not sure that I will be able to post pics.

Welcome, Granny. It's great to have you participate and give your perspective.

Perhaps you could give a website link to the manufacturer (just type it in rather than a hotlink) or the brand name of the purse (+model name) and readers could look it up themselves.

I tried to post a link and at this time, I am too new. But... go to ebay and enter *concealment purses* and you will find several auctions to an array of styles, including the one that I bought. These are affordable, stylish good quality leather purses. As soon as permitted and figure this site out, I will post pics of my purse.

Not a problem Kay.. I have been in that position too.

edit; This purse has a holster using velcro to hold it in place for the gun. The compartment can be locked for safety to prevent any children from removing the gun. There is ample room, even for a revolver. The average person just won't recognize this purse as a carry purse and it is so functional and stylish.
