Is there such a thing as a high round count 50AE?

besides maybe a rental gun.

Get the .44 DE. Ammo is cheaper and much more plentiful. You get an extra round in the mag, and the .44 still has enough power to do everything the 50 can.

The nice thing about the DE is that you can convert them your self in under 5 minutes to any of the 3 offered calibers. If you get the 44 and still want a 50, or get a 50 and want something more economical to shoot, you can always convert.

I would also recommend the .44. I have shot one before. They are nice. I know a couple people who own the .50ae DE, and they don't really care for it. They say its not a lot of fun to shoot. Plus ammo is insanly priced. BUT if you want the .50. Get it.

I have personally owned one with both the .44 and the .50AE kit. Definitely get the .50 first. It's much less finicky and ammo sensitive, and the recoil, while stouter than the .44 is very manageable.

I know a guy who has a .44 Desert Eagle and he want's to sell it. I can't remember how old it is but I think it is about 10 years old. He has only fired it a few times (like 10 or less). The gun is in excellent condition. Not sure what he is asking but if you are interested I will ask him and get photo's. He's in the Upper but comes down to the Milford area often. He is coming down next Sunday. Send me an email if you are interested. Dpohlman@epd-mi.com

I own a DE .50ae and let me tell you, the ammo may be on the expensive side but they are very fun to shoot. It's an attention grabber at the range. Insanely loud with a huge concussion. But your gonna be lookin at about $1.75 a round for .50's. I recomend 350 grain soft points by magnum research. They don't jam up like Samson ultra ammo. You can get them at shooters service in Livonia for about $33.95 for 20 which isn't too bad. Hope I was helpful.
