Anyone have suggestions for sticking breech plugs on Remington Genesis muzzle loaders? Tried several lubes, no luck. Have to put solvent down the barrel and let it soak and still have to work the plug in and out for a long time.

I've heard of people using teflon tape. Have you tried that before?

Yes I have and it did not work.

Oh that's a bummer then.

Have you tried removing it before you leave the range or do you generally wait until you get home to do it?

Can you get it out now? Once you get it out I'd make sure everything is clean, all the threads on both ends. I only put mine in when I plan to shoot or hunt, other times it is left out by the gun. Put some type of grease on the threads & put it in snug but not overly tight. After shooting don't leave it in long.

I take the plug out when I get home because I cannot get it out at the range. It is not stuck before I shoot and come out freely no matter how long it is lubed and assembled. Only after shootin several rounds does it get stuck. Per Traditions they have an oring seal that the Remington Genesis does not that keeps the blow back out on the threads.

Use a better grade of breech plug lube, I use a product called Gorilla Grease and it works great and you only need to use it sparingly.:borg:
