AIM has a lot of Russian 9mm in stock right now...all less then $200/case. I just picked up a case of the Tula, it was about $193 after shipping to 48125. All good ammo, and sure as hell beats driving to every Wal mart in the state trying to find some in stock...

+1

Copes Distributing also has Russian Bear 9mm for $9.99/ 50 right now and $7.95 flat rate shipping applies.

I believe they use the same powders. But seriously why are people so concern about how dirty ammo is. Gun got dirty? Well clean it!

i dont know i run wolf through my sks and it loves it but my handgun has tighter tolerences than the old war rifle. you would think that if the stuff was to dirty it would wear more due to the build up making the slide run tighter.
i dont know?

Just ordered 2,000 rounds of the 9mm. Now I'll look up the other sight & see how it sounds.

I guess it is a good deal, I just have a hard time with steel case for my 9 mms. Besides, if I need to stock up I can pick up 250 rds of brass cased for 65 bucks at a show locally, no shipping charges incurred, and if I am buying 4 of them, I bet I could get him down a little on price as well. That little bit of extra cost buys me a lot of assurance that I am not beating up my extractors and gives me reloadable brass. That said, for my sks or ak the steel case have never presented any problems.:ak47:

The steel used in the cases is softer then the steel your extractor is made of. Shoot without worries.

.... and it's gone!

Back to your regularly scheduled Brown Bear and Wolf 9mm from Aim Surplus.

At Action Impact they said you can shoot Wolf ammo...something about it tears up the range. I dunno, I'm not a gun expert, but is that the case? Or are they just pushing you to buy their ammo since the Wolf stuff is about the only thing you can seem to get these days?

I'm sure the prices on the other steel case 9mm will go down eventually. Tula/Wolf/Brown Bear is basically all the same stuff.

Prices on ruskie 7.62x39 has been falling significantly in last 2-3 months

With the exception of the primers (Tula is berdan) it looks to be exactly like Wolf...in fact the cases are stamped as such. Same type of packaging as well, save for the design on the box.

Isn't Wolf Berdan also?

I'm 98% sure the Wolf Military Classic I shot up a month or so ago said boxer primed. Could be wrong, though...

Gotcha. Didn't know if they switches to boxer or not. Stuff i bought years ago was berdan and that was the black box stuff. I always thought except for .223 and Wolf Gold ammo it's all berdan.

Actually seems the MC Wolf 9mm on AIM's web is berdan also.

Noticed the 7.62x39. Down about 2-3 bucks a box in the last few months. A welcome change there. I remember the 1.99 a box days.

Bought another 2k rounds from aimsurplus. This time they had something other that the Tula-Wolf brand. I used up a box from my first 2k & received it in 3 days. The ammo shot fine in a glock with a KKM barrel. This last order of 2k ended up costing 18.9 cents a round delivered. Can't complain about that!

Guy,
Keep checking at aimsurplus for the 9mm Wolf type. Like I said in another post, my last 2,000 rounds were 19 cents delivered to my door. Why pay the cost increase for the Walmart ammo & buy it a few boxes here & there plus tax when you can get it cheaper by checking every other day.
I thought they take backorders if they're out. I find it fine as wine for target practice.

Joey,
I saw the squib from HG2 and am assuming this is the ammo you ran for the class. If my assumption is correct do you feel confident enough in this ammo to continue running it?

Thanks,
Greg/KD8JUV

Joeywhat

Yes the squib was from this stuff. I'll still run it, although I'm going to shoot an email to Wolf and see if they'll replace the case I bought. I'll still shoot it, but it'll be used for slow fire drills so I can catch another squib should it occur.

These things happen...it's easy to fix so I'm not too worried about it. I've shot a LOT of Wolf, probably more then any other 9mm ammo...so it was bound to happen eventually.
