While working on a 1940's cabin I found this knife hidden in the rafters. Home owner said they have no knowledge of it and said I could have it. What is it? Is there any value? Blade is 6" and no markings that I can see.

Cool find, but you should notify the police any time you find a weapon, especially one that seems to be hidden. Tell them how you found it and that you would like to keep it if its not connected to a crime.

It's a simple precaution, just like wanting someone you're going to sell a gun to to have a CPL or a PP. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the knife, but if, for some reason the police find this knife in the OP's possession and it turns out to be connect to a crime, he'll be in allot more trouble than whatever he did to originally get the police's attention.
As for reporting people as terrorists, only do that to the ones that terrorize you.

Clean it up and get yourself a nice sheath for it. If you let me know the blade size I might have a spare one you can have!
