Dear John Lott,

I was walking down the street with my girlfriend and three guys approached us and told me to give them my money and my "ho".
(Naturally, I don't have any means of self defense as only the police should be able to protect us.)
Needless to say, things got ugly pretty quick! One of the guys grabbed my girlfriend and started ripping her clothes off and right about then I saw a flash and heard a big noise and don't remember anything until I woke up laying on the sidewalk. I felt excruciating pain in my groin area.
I looked around and my girlfriend was gone and so was my schlong. It was shot off by one of the guys that took my girlfriend.
They were later arrested and charged with the rape and murder of my girlfriend and for shooting my schlong off.
Someone must have called the police because they came along with an ambulance after what seemed forever. (It was actually only a few minutes I later found out).
Anyway Mr. Lott, to my question: Now that I am a eunuch with no girlfriend, what is the best way for me to protect myself besides hiding out in the cellar like I have been since this tragic accident*, and also, how could these guys get their hands on a gun? They didn't even have a license or anything?
*( I call it an accident because I realize the guys that did this probably have been economically and socially oppressed and couldn't help themselves.)
