Sorry for such a stupid post, but in all fairness, I have never hunted before, so am I allowed a little ignorance? :)

Anyways.... I am looking to possibly go deer hunting with my uncle and grandpa this fall, and was wondering what exactly is required for me to acquire a license? Do I have to attend a hunter safety course or no (18 years old)?

There is no such thing as a stupid question!

Welcome to the ranks of us hunters! Belive me many on here would be glad to take you out to the woods and show you the ropes. Also several of us on here are certified to teach hunters safety.

You will need to take the hunters safety course. Other then that that is all that is required for a license.

Good luck and enjoy the time in the outdoors. A bad day hunting just does not happen. You are in the great outdoors (God's country) lots of wildlife will be around you. The air is clean and the amout you can hear away from the urban areas is amazing. With all that how can a bad day occur?

Where are you going to school at? Maybe someone here could hook you up with a class near where you are going to school .

I'll be leaving tuesday morning (19 Aug) for MSU... East Lansing - - so if anybody knows of any places offering courses around there I'd appreciate it. I only have one class on friday (1500-1550hrs, Latin 101) so a 2 or 3-day course would be good (fri/sat/sun).

Thanks again guys
