Story (http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2003/9/15/232734.shtml)

Looks like the seedy demoncrats are at it again. This is sickenly like the Communist tactics of years ago in the U.S.S.R.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I hate the democrat party. And I am a union member (but not by choice).

It won't go anywhere. There aren't the votes for it in the House, the Senate or on the FCC.

Keep an eye on it, sure. But don't worry about it.

The only REAL "Fairness Doctrine" is the free market.
Not speech policing.

You hear all this talk about persons and groups wanting to start up a liberal talk radio syndicate. Ever notice that all it seems to be is talk. If people wanted to hear liberal BS...err, excuse me..Ideas they would demand that local radio program this garbage. Radio stations are in the busines of making money and they would put whatever junk on the air that would draw listeners. They don't care about anything but drawing numbers so they can sell commercial space to the highest bidder! It's the law of supply and demand. There's plenty of supply out there but little demand to hear liberal babble. This is why the so called fairness doctrine keeps popping up. They are in fact admitting defeat and are going to give it to us for our own good but as previously posted itjust ain't gonna fly in congress or the FCC!

Pick up a good shortwave radio. One can tune into any kind of radio program they wish, from just about anywhere and in just about any language. Quite a bit of bible thumping, a lot of government bashing, a dash of racism and bigotry, loads of militia orientated discussion and, did I mention a lot of government bashing? I don't believe any law will stop the shortwave broadcasts or in anyway alter what is being said.

One thing I haven't heard yet was any *PRO* Democrat or liberal discussion by anyone. This, I think, is good. Anyone wants that can read the Free Press or NY Times.
