The DNR range at Rose Lake is free. It is north east of Lansing in Bath Township, I believe.

I belong to Eaton Rapids Conservation Club, dues are 25.00 a year, they have pistol, rifle, and bow range. They also have a club house that we rent out for receptions, meeting and ect. You are not required to work any hours (like most) but if you feel like it it is always appriciated.
If any one might be interest let me know I am allowed to bring guest's.
or if you want to go out and shoot some time let me know.

Allow me to share part of an e-mail I got from the DNR concearning shooting on state land that is not a designated range...........

Dave -

You may target practice with an identifiable backdrop on any State owned land that is not a State Park or
posted "no shooting". Target shooting is not covered by conservation law and therefore there are no
closed seasons or curfews for target practicing on State lands. What you may want to pay notice to are
areas where there are hikers, campers, bikers or horseback riders--these folks may also use State lands.

One other note....Targets must be man made. Shooting stumps or rocks could invite trouble. Hope this helps.
