Another point worthy of noting is that there were only 52 licenses revoked (none in WaCo).
I'm assuming that those 52 are included in the 137 convictions.

I wonder what this percentage is with the general public. Say per 100,000 or so.

I wonder how many of these denials actually stuck. When I went down for my stupid denial.. there were about 20 people there that had been denied... one old guy had a B&E charge that happened 50 years ago.. no conviction just the arrest.. and among those 20 people only 1 denial stuck.. all the rest were approved after they spoke to the board... talking to them most seemed to be some arrest or something that showed no convictions of any kind... they really had nothing but denied them anyway.
I bet out of those denied maybe less than 50 are probably warranted... of course we will never know.

It's too bad there's no category "denial reversed on appeal."

That number may be a net figure, with the appeals accounted for.

I don't believe it is; there's nothing on the Clerk's report to the MSP that requires the Clerk of the Gun Board to count or mention reversals.
The way the reporting forms work, suppose County X has only one applicant. They reject that applicant, applicant appeals and wins, then the board grants him a license per the court's order.
Going down the reporting form, the clerk would probably count that as be counted as 1 denial and 1 grant.
That might explain the discrepancy in the summary numbers. They don't add up.

Could be. In a way, it does kind of net out the numbers. Sorta.

WAYNE COUNTY DID NOT REPORT THE ACTUAL PERMIT COST

I noticed that, too. I'll bet that would skew the hell out of the averages, eh?

For me and the wife it would - bet they wouldn't add in the cost of 5 trips to the gun board (Romulus and downtown) and 6 trips downtown to the Clerk: filing (2 trips), temporary permits (2 trips) and final permits (2 trips). Of course, the cost could be considered as payment for the education received in the travel down Michigan Ave. through the 'hood. What an eye-opener!!!
Wayne County is a bureaucratic nightmare that would put any banana republic to shame.
Still trying to convince the wife to move to rural Tennessee . . .
