Copy of E-mail I received today - - talk about BS...
March 23, 2004
Mr. Geo Fuhst
Thank you . . .
. . for contacting me to express your support for the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (S.1805, previously S.659). I appreciate you taking the time to communicate your views with me.
As you may know, Senator Larry Craig introduced S.1805 on October 31, 2003. This legislation was designed to prohibit civil legal action from being brought against firearms manufacturers or dealers for damages resulting from the misuse of their products. During debate on the Senate floor, several amendments were added to the bill that led Senator Craig to withdraw support from his own legislation. These amendments included extending the assault weapons ban, requiring safety locks for handguns, and mandating background checks at gun shows. The final bill was defeated by a vote of 90-8.
I share your support for Second Amendment rights, and I believe that a top priority should be to enforce our current laws. Should further legislation come before the Senate, I will be sure to keep your strong views in mind.
Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. Please feel free to do so whenever I may be of assistance to you or your family.
Sincerely,
Debbie Stabenow
United States Senator

I also got E-mail from Stabenow today too. Almost word for word as yours. GEE, I didn't know she was pro-2nd Amendment. She sure doesn't vote like it.

As you may know, Senator Larry Craig introduced S.1805 on October 31, 2003. This legislation was designed to prohibit civil legal action from being brought against firearms manufacturers or dealers for damages resulting from the misuse of their products. I understand your concern about the addition of certain amendments to the bill including the assault weapons ban extension, the handgun safety lock requirement, and the mandatory background checks at gun shows. During floor debate, these three specific amendments were included in the final bill. As a result, Senator Craig, who authored the bill, withdrew his support for the bill and asked his fellow Senators to vote against the bill as well. I voted, with 89 other colleagues, including Senator Craig, to defeat this bill.

She's just like any other politician - - they believe that if they pile S*** over your head you're bound to swallow some.

Two words: pure :bs: . Well, maybe one word and one icon,
Debbie always doubletalks this crap.
She voted for a .30-30 ban and she calls herself pro-2a? WTF is that all about. Hell, I'd vote for almost anyone not named Joe Schwarz or Chuck Perricone for that seat.

OK, I replied to the Honorable Senator.
How's this?
Thanks for the reply, Debbie.
I do have one question for you:
How can you say that you share my support for second amendment rights when you voted for a ban on .30-30 rifles? The .30-30 has long been the traditional deer rifle of choice for many Michigan families. I am in possession of one made by Winchester that was purchased by my father after he returned from World War II. He used it until 1990 then gave it to me. I hope to pass it along to my grandson some day.
Anyone who would vote to make possession or shooting of this rifle is no friend of my family.
I look forward to the end of the ill-conceived and mis-named Assault Weapons Ban this September. This law has been a benefit to no one except politicians who prey on scared constituents.

I am sure that your response to her made you feel a little better but I really doubt that it will have any effect on her. I view her and Lenin as lost causes that are not to be trusted.

Yeah, Lenin doesn't even answer any of my letters anymore. It's a waste of time and a stamp, but I still write him about issues, just to let him know I'm still around.
Actually Liberal Debbie didn't vote to ban the .30-30 rifle.....only the ammo.(It's "armored piercing") That was Kennedy's amendment.
Not that is makes much difference.

In essence it's the same thing. Without ammo a rifle is just a stick.
