Dan,
Do you know if the bill has the restrictions in it...I think I heard something about it being limited to certain areas of the state near the Indiana border.

From reading the bill as passed, there are no limits put on the hunt. Hunt is to be regulated by the DNR and the only change the senate made was to add the $2. dove stamp provision.

I'm sure pressure will be put on the NRC to "limit" the first hunt to a small area (as suggested by MUCC).

After the bill is signed (we need to let the Gov. know it needs to be signed), we must show our support for a full, unrestricted, hunt. It may mean making a couple trips to Lansing to let them know just how important this is to all of us.

Detroit News poll:

The Michigan House passed a bill to allow hunters to shoot mourning doves in Michigan. Do you want Gov. Granholm to sign it?

http://info.detnews.com/poll/

We are loosing 56.16 NO
to 43.84 YES

Dont look at the comments unless you want to :toss:

Things sure can change in a couple of hours.

As of now, it is 68.95% Yes, sign it, and 31.05% No.

That's black powder reform, expanded concealed carry on state land, and now dove hunting.

The gun rights community is gonna have to look hard at her next election.

I'm shocked. I thought this would be vetoed for sure.
She must be listening to John Cherry.

Gotta give her credit.

After her statements about the new CCW law and her part with people who care about kids this is really a change in attitude for her.
Her new stratagey is after the gun owners get done paying for all the fee increases she has made and all the new and higher taxes they wont be able to afford guns or ammo.

Dan - Glenn Anderson isn't an honest man. I won't vote for him again.
