Now i may be beating a dead horse here. I do fell that there may be times when it will be nessary to carry to the court house (city, township, county, state) for your own safty.

we need to get a small change to the curent laws, if the courts will not let us carry in the courts then what we need is a place of safe storge once we are in the court house. this way we can protect ourselfs all the way to and from the courts

The CPL statute doesn't prohibit carry in courthouses; the Michigan Supreme Court issued an Administrative Order that did that. (Federal courthouses are CEZs under federal firearms laws.)

The Court of Appeals had just such lockers when they were at the First Federal Building in Detroit. Unfortunately, I don't think they took them when they moved to the General Motors Building.

The Federal Marshals have lockers like that in the Federal Courthouse. However, I believe they are reserved for LEOs.

That argument pertains to most CEZ's especially sports arena's and hospitals.

Does this mean court house or court room?
What about carrying iinto the court house to the county clerks office to renew your CPL?

The Saginaw County Governmental Center(Court House) has small lockers inside the main entrance, before you get to the metal detectors. I don`t know whether they can be used by the general public or are for law enforcement only. I have always left my gun in my truck.

"What about carrying into the court house to the county clerks office to renew your CPL?"

In Saginaw County, the clerks office is past the metal detectors. Sheriff`s Deputies will not allow any weapon beyond the detectors. The last time I was there a guy had a box cutter in his pocket. The Deputy told him he had to either throw it into the trash, or return it to his vehicle.

I was told once that the court order bans weapons - any place the courts business is done - so this would include places like the county clerk's office, friend of the court, ect.
