driving home from deer hunting today just south of mio I saw an all white turkey on the side of the road. there were no houses around and it looked to skinny to be a domestic of farm turkey.
there was traffic behind me so i couldnt stop to get a pic.

    Here's some:

•Color Phases: A few wild turkeys grow unusually colored feathers. These are known as color phases. There are four color phases, a smokey gray color phase, a melanistic color phase (all black), an erythritic color phase (reddish coloration) and an albino color phase (very rare).

Although I didn't see an albino turkeys I've seen more then a few odd ones in the Mio Fairview area. We did see one a few years back that the town of comins and Fairview were trying to protect, it had an all white tail feather section. Someone wacked it on 33 with a big rig.

    Mio/Fairview

This year hunting the Mio/Fairview area. Did a couple days of archery hunting and did the firearm opener.

I was very surprised at the low number of shots I heard, and how far away they were. Nothing like hunting Newaygo Co!
