9 Illinois counties to consider concealed carry

...The pressure continues to build in Illinois for concealed carry reform!

9 Illinois counties to consider concealed carry

    DAVID MERCER, Associated Press
    Saturday, November 3, 2012

"CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) — With most voters focused on the economy or health care when they vote on Tuesday, some in Illinois will get a chance to send a message about gun control.

Gun-rights advocates in at least nine mostly rural counties have placed measures on ballots asking voters if they want Illinois to allow its residents to carry concealed weapons.

The measures are non-binding, since no local law can override state law. But advocates hope the votes help build pressure on lawmakers to support so-called "concealed carry," an issue that resonates in much of Illinois, and highlights the divide between Chicago's powerful anti-gun forces and the rest of the state."

    Chicago is still a problem

The County of Cook (Chicago) enacted a new 'law' imposing a $25 fee to be paid by any resident that purchases a firearm.

The money will (supposedly) be used to defray the healthcare costs of gun violence victims.

Illinois appear to have a long way to go before they taste freedom.
    It's just sad.

Didnt watch too much and didnt see it mentioned.

Did see somewhere on line that the average for the nine counties was 2/3 in favor--low county 47% and highest county went 80% for CCW.

Measures supporting concealed carry were on the ballot Tuesday in at least 10 mostly rural counties — Adams, Bond, Henry, McDonough, Mercer, Randolph, Rock Island, Schuyler, Stephenson and Warren — and passed overwhelmingly in every one.
