A trust simplifies passing the items on after you die. On death, your items will transfer tax free on a form 5 to legal heirs. But it still has to transfer, which takes time. With a trust, it can remain in the trust, ownership going to whoever you chose, and no waiting.

But the bigger one for me is this: If you make your own NFA items on a Form 1, you have to engrave your name and where the item was made on the item. With the trust, it is the trust's name. And trusts can have names that don't include your own. So you can avoid engraving your name on your NFA items.
ah i see. That makes sense. Thanks for the info! Thinking about getting started with a supressor, still trying to decide what gun to start with!

The trust I use for form 1 SBRs does not have the word “trust” in the name.

Yup, the smaller the name, less engraving, less it affects Value..
