    Steering column holsters

I remember passing through the gun shows at gibraltar and there was always a vendor that had a kit that would mount under the steering wheel, with a holster in tow.

anyone know the name of the company?

I know that Gum Creek makes the clip-strap part that mounts itself, but its $35 for just that, no holster.

    Any recommendations or ideas?

Also considering going with a regular IWB holster with a strong clip, if I cant find anything, but would love to have the security of a top and bottom mount

A 30# rare earth magnet and some trim tape or polyester adhesive. Mount it wherever you want, at any angle you desire. Easy to remove and clean up when you sell the vehicle.

Trim tape over the magnet to protect the gun? Or to mount the magnet to the trim?

No issues with hard braking or anything else?

Trim tape to mount the magnet. You can get magnets wit ha vinyl covering that protects the gun, or glue a small piece of felt to it. The magnets are quite affordable on Amazon.
Shyster turned me on to this mounting method; he's been using it for a while in his Suburban. Say's he's never had a problem.

I'm sure some slight magnetization could occur. I don't see any issues arising from such.

So understanding this correctly, every time you enter your vehicle you draw your weapon and "mount" it to the steering column, and when you exit, you re-holster?

Do you re-holster outside the vehicle, inside the vehicle?

Ratchet strap around the column and holster of your likeing could do it...

I don't do this because I think unnecessary holstering and unholstering in less than ideal places is a bad recipe. Not to say it can't be done safely though; you just need to be damn sure you don't get complacent OR leave the gun mounted while away from the vehicle.
