    For What?

Need more info. What is the intended purpose? All are good guns.

yeah I guess I should have put that in there. Would be used for deer hunting, in the area I hunt most shots are 50-300 yards depending on wether I am in a tree or walking down 2 tracks

both calibers will get the job done fine. Ihave a 700 bdl in 30-06 it is a tack driver. 300 yds is no problem, but .308 is just as cabible if not more for distance

Ther VTR is a great looking rifle with the triangular barrel and the ports.
Both are great calibers. .308 ammo is a little cheaper but the 30-06 could be used for larger game. Heck buy 2!

    bought the vtr .308
it shoots great, I'm very happy with it however I did have to drop it off to get worked on. Something is scratching into the brass and making a bit of a mess.

Took you a 'year' to decide?

I'm reading the first couple posts and start thinking, OK, what fool bumped a year old thread to post an opinion or vote when the OP has probably already made a decision, then I see, Oh!, it's you with an update.

Just funnin', congrats on a nice gun.
