Ditto on the why? The OP stated he will be with an experienced hunter, and the DNR link provided by Garbo makes no mention of upper age limit.

I stand corrected I thought there was an upper age limit for apprentice hunters. Good Luck and enjoy youre season

When you buy the license and then sign it, the fine print that no one reads, certifies that you meet the ed requirements. Signing and not meeting is some big fine.
