Purchasing a rifle in northern Michigan from a MGO brother, instead of driving 4 hours he said that he could ship usps and not go thru a ffl because its in state. Has anybody else done this I trust his judgement he seems like a great guy but he said go ahead and ask . thanks for any feed back Bowhunter996

Rifles can be shipped via USPS:
Within a state to anyone, no FFL needed
To yourself to any state, no FFL needed
To transfer to another person out of state, FFL required

I have sold rifles within MI to buyers and shipped them directly to the buyers within MI using priority mail insured.
    All the best,

Ditto that. Just know that the rules are very different for handguns.

An unloaded long gun is not hazardous.

Correct. You can go to the USPS website and see a list of what is prohibited. I ship guns through USPS all the time because they are much more easier than FedEx or UPS.

I would add that you should stop into the P.O. and ask someone about it, only to be sure you don't get the dingbat I once got.

She panicked, wanted to flee, then after her co-worker shut her down, still wanted to mark the outside of the box FIREARM.

Also ask if they want the box open so they can check it or if sealed is okay. I was once made to open the box to show it wasn't loaded.
