it does not work very well in my ruger lcp
maybe 1 or 2 rounds per mag will not fire

I had no problems in my PPK/S. Get a good German gun.
Joking aside you might be limp wristing. The small grip on the Ruger does make it harder to hold.

a big problem for little guns... sad, but true..
Besides.. the RUGER has to be broken in. a box of ammo aint enough!

Keep it well oil/greased per instructions, and keep shooting.... it should go away.

Not quite, they only warn about +p

"The RUGER® LCPTM pistols are chambered for the .380 Auto cartridge. Do
not attempt to load any other cartridges into the magazine or chamber of the
pistol. Do not use “+P” ammunition.
The RUGER® LCPTM pistols are compatible with standard factory ammunition
loaded to U.S. Industry Standards, including hollow-point loads loaded in brass
or aluminum cases. No .380 Auto ammunition manufactured in accordance with
NATO, U.S., SAAMI, or CIP standards is known to be beyond the design limits or
known not to function in these pistols. Do not use “+P” ammunition."

I believe all manufactures warn to use only ammo that meets SAAMI and/or CIP standards. This is their way of covering their %^^

I've had problems with ammo with slightly different diameters at the bullet end or taper and also with different length ammo. This video shows one of them.

.380 ACP is 9MM Kurtz. Kurtz is German for short. .380 is 9X18, or just a silly millimeter shorter than 9X19.
