SB 1381 is bad law by a BAD lawmaker .........

This bill calls for the annual registration of our pistols , rifles and shotguns with the State for a fee( safety inspection=$5.00 each?) or confiscation. It also requires an "on premises" inspection of your storage place. Ain't NO WAY this can be Constitutional that the State gun police come into your home and inspect your firearms storage in your "castle" ...NEVER!!!!! Has this woman ever read the Bill of Rights or Constitution , was she sleeping when she was read her oath of office , has she ever read Art.6 Sec, 1 of our State constitution ? We need to have more and better enforcement of the laws banning criminals not new ones to take our rifles from us. Call her and any other state lawmaker you know and let them know how you think about this brainfart bill. These "lawmakers" need to all go back to school and study Civics , and relearn just what LIBERTY and FREEDOM mean in America.........Just an OldDogy BARKING

This is one issue on which I respectfully disagree with you.

My reply:

I can see that you disagree, but I do not see any respect. I am a law
abiding citizen. I have never committed any crime with or without my guns. I
pay taxes and value human life, especially my own. I expect my government to
prosecute gun crimes and get criminals off the streets without violating my
rights. Further, the Michigan Constitution clearly protects my right to keep
and bear the very arms you propose to ban. Despite that, you want to take my
constitutionally protected property from me, subject me to annual
registrations, fees, and even violate the privacy of my home simply because
I choose to exercise my rights. That is NOT respect. Your proposed
legislation is disrespectful to me and all of Michigan's law abiding gun
owners and does nothing to reduce violent crime. Please revoke it at once.
