How to find info/value of a rare shotgun?

A freind of mine has a shotgun he wants to sell, and I can't get any information or value on it for him. He thinks it was a custom made series for a local police department, but I am not sure...

The name on the barrell says: Winchester Police

It's a 12 Guage Magnum that is "all" stainless, including the receiver. Redwood colored stock and fore end.

Winchester's website only shows a MARINE version, but only the barrell is stainless, the receiver is blued. Gunbroker does not even has a similar one for sale, and Yahoo yeilded no matches to what I was looking for,

How can I find out more about this purely stainless shotgun?

Blue Book lists the Winchester model 1200 Police Stainless at $195.00 for a 98% gun.
They have been discontinued for a while. That's why they aren't listed on the Wiinchester websight.
