Island Lakes for deer?

What's Island Lakes like on opening day? Anyone ever hunt it? Do you sit in a sea of orange or is it huntable? I don't mind other hunters to keep the deer moving, I just don't want to be in a combat zone..

I went there about ten years ago. Opening day was a week day and I was working nights. I had picked out a nice blowdown to sit in. About at first light, some clown came strolling in and sat down about 50 yards in front of me. I tried to quietly get his attention as he came in, but no doing. I left early.

I know, not much help, but I had to reminisce.

There are deer there but they are hard to find, I've never been there for opening day, but when I have been it wasn't too bad.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll try it. May pick up an early christmas present and get a climbing stand to get out of the crossfire.
