it's been years since I sold a pistol and at that time we both had our CCW.

Can I sell a pistol to someone with a purchase permit or does a FFL need to handle it? I have a valid CCW

Assuming that the buyer lives in Michigan and the PP is issued by a Michigan PD or SD. Whether or not you (the seller) have a CPL does not enter into the picture. No FFL required either.
