For various reasons I want to put a folding stock on my Ruger Mini-30. One reason is so I can safely conceal/store/hide it at my out of state cabin, so 'MI legal' folded length is not an issue, but it would be nice to have anyway.

Does anyone have experience with the various Mini14/30 folders from Butler Creek, Choate, etc? I am not averse to polymer but the steel buttstock design seems less bulky. I have a Choate on an 870 and it is pretty rugged.

Looks like $75 - $110 depending on brand and supplier, for that price range I won't decide based on cost.

Any advice is appreciated!

I have a Chaote folder but it is undersized at 27 inches. Chaote tool stoped selling them due to issuses with the law ----maybe that has now changed. I still have the stock but its not on the rifle now ----I did not want to register it as a pistol at least not in my town.
