Okay Goldy, did you put the extended mag on the SKS or did it come that way when you bought it. I have an SKS and have bought an extended mag for it but it doesn't seem to be the drop in replacement that I was promised.

I put it on. It's the funny-looking one with the "duck bill" sticking out the front. Once you remove the fixed mag, it pretty much just drops in. It's been a while but I think I remember having to clearance out some of the wood to get it to fit properly. If you want to bring your toys by the house sometime, I'm sure we can either fix it up or determine why it won't work. Worst case scenario, I'll buy the mag off you. :)

There are instuctions online for removing the factory mag. Thats how I did mine.

http://www.simonov.net/main.htm Lots of cool SKS info here.

http://www.4mags-n-things.com/sksinstructions.html Here is one place that gives instructions on how to pull it out. Once I got the stocker out, it was easy to put in the detachable mag. There is a hook that jets out from the front of the mag. The ridge on the mag goes above the center pin that holds the gun together Click in in there, then rock the mag toward the rear of the gun. Once it clicks, you're in.

Me personally, I did it and put it back to stock. It's hard to remove the 30 rounder with one hand. Stripper clips are faster. IMO.

Goldwing? do you need another 30 rounder??? I have mine and I wont be using it. got anything to trade? I could use an AK 30 round mag.

Sure, I could always use another one. I don't have any AK mags, though. How about a couple .45 mags?

Thanks for the offer. I'll try it again this week and maybe get back to you if I can't get it figured out.

Goldwing.

Right now the only pistol mag I can use is for a glock 27.

I still need a reddot scope.

Anything else??

I'll look around and see if I can find a G27 mag.
A red dot scope is worth a lot more than an SKS mag, though (not that I have one, anyway).

What else? Hmmm... a Ruger 10/22 barrel or a couple Eagle 10/22 30-round mags? Ummm... a Kydex 1911 holster? Kydex G17/G22 holster?

Man... I never really thought about what I don't need anymore!

Goldwing, ya don't seem to have anything I need.

A cheapy used tasco reddot isn't worth more than that mag!

How about you just make me an offer for it. I could use the cash anyway. I wanna get that beer making thing on track.

Also this one is plastic with the knob on the side. PM me if you are still interested.
