Renewed Oct 25, received 'come get it' call Jan 24th. 3 Months almost to the day. Mine expires Feb 25th so I only left 30 days on the table, worth it for 'no lapse' insurance.

Pretty much mirrors my renewal experience in Oakland. I was impressed.

I renewed November 30 in Oakland and they told me that they would "mail" new CPL to my home. Anyone else received theirs in the mail?
Called MSP today to check on print status and was told prints were approved 1-25-05 ad would be mailed to Oakland within the week. Not bad considering all the bad publicty about other counties!

If they mail it, won't you still have to sign and laminate it? Just curious, back in Sept I still had to pick it up and then sign it in front of the lady. She then laminated it(free of charge).

Born and raised in Detroit. Moved out in '87, due entirely to where my employer is located. In retrospect, the best move I ever made!

OK it finally came
Renewed on November 30th in Oakland and received new CPL in the mail yesterday 2-24-05 with a issue date of 2-22-05. I think thats 86 days including mailing time (2 days). Seems like a very long time but then considering Wayne Cty, etc. I guess thats not bad. It comes laminated and is only slightly smaller than original CPL but not as small as your drivers license. Address is not shown but there is a box for "exempt from pistol free zones" I guess that would be for retired LEOS, etc.?
Stay safe

<snip> received new CPL in the mail <snip> It comes laminated <snip>

Bill, out of curiosity, how did you sign the back of the new CPL? Did they have you sign a "blank" form when you applied?

Just trying to figure out how other counties are managing to mail the CPL already laminated when it has to be signed on the back!

Thanks, Tom (Wayne County)

Finally arrived!

Applied 12/3
MSP cleared prints 1/23
Arrived 3/8
Total 95 days

I had the county clerks office take the permit picture for an additional $10. They sent a duplicate picture with the permit
