I'm looking into trading my Glock in, I'm taking it to Cabela's in Dundee. I was offered $300 store credit by my local gun shop for the pistol, 2 mags, and the box it came in, nothing else, as long as I applied the amount toward a new pistol from that shop. I don't know what Cabela's

It's a 2nd Gen Glock 22 .40S&W. Only around 2500 rounds through it, very light holster wear, and the normal "Slide Peening". It's a very nice gun, I love shooting it, but I think it's time to upgrade. What would a reasonable offer from Cabela's Gun Library be? I'm hoping for $325 or so, any less than that, and I'll just put the gun I want to buy on layaway.

Next weapon is a Springfield Armory XD .45 Service model. 4" barrel. Comes with 2 mags, Hogue grips, the original box, and all the "XD Gear" except for the double mag holster. They are asking $399 for it. It's a used pistol, in VERY good condition, no visible damage to the internals at all, no holster wear. Should I try to talk them down on it at all? They have another pistol identical to this one, but without the Hogue grips and in rough shape, for the same price. I was thinking this is a pretty good deal, but if I can walk out of there having spent less than $50 out of pocket, I'll be ECSTATIC.

Just looking for some input.

You should list your Glock here, I honestly think you could get more money, I'll let the Glock guys chime in.

Try this guy, tell him $400 ish. http://www.migunowners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=113741

I just bought a G22 RTF II for $380 on here in like new condition. I thought that was a steal of a deal. I hope that helps.

anyone who asks more than 450 for a 3rd gen used glock is asking too much, excluding modified ones, aftermarket frames, compitition models etc.
but the RTF1 RTF2 and STD grip gen 3 should sell easily for 400-450
that being said
a used gen 2 should go for about 350-375
but remember stores have to make over head so we buy low.

Michigan Police Equipment was selling G22s for $335 out the door. http://www.migunowners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=101012

So sell it for what you can get, probably more on here than @ Cabelas.

BBGV has the XD listed at 98% $425 95% $365 90% 310.

Hope that helps

I just checked the age of both of the pistols. . .

The Glock model 22 .40 that I traded in was imported on Feb 13, 1995.
The Springfield XD 45 that I purchased was manufactured in March 2010.

Between the trade-in price I got for the Glock, the price of the XD, and taxes, I walked away with less than $150 in out-of-pocket costs. Did I do alright?

If you are happy, you did fine. Values were close, and you didn't have to deal with the hassle of selling a gun.

Of course on MGO, a used G22 is somehow worth $550.00

I had the price in my MGO listing down to $350 before I traded it in, I didn't get any interest until I had already traded it in.

I took the XD out shooting today, it's a MUCH better shooter than the Glock was. I think it's just because of the different ballistic characteristics between the .40 S&W and the .45 ACP. The recoil is different, it's more of a "Push" than a "Snap". I was able to shoot it VERY well, every round was on target, even when rapid-firing. I like the XD, it's in GREAT shape, it looked a little rough when I picked it up, but after I got "down and dirty" with the cleaning kit, it cleaned up quite well.
