There is a Garand match listed on the CMP Competition tracker for Ionia, Michigan at the Western Michigan Rifle and Pistol Club for 12/11/2010. I fired this match last year and I remember it had a good turn-out, and excellent food.

The John C. Garand match, the Springfield rifle match, and the Vintage Military rifle matches are the CMP's most popular CMP Games event held during the National Matches. The course of fire is 15 shots slow-fire prone (first 5 shots are sighters); 10 shots rapid-fire prone; 10 shots slow fire standing. All shot from 200 yards.

Registration starts at 0900 with shooting commencing at 1000. Match fees are $15.00 for the Garand match, and $5.00 for each additional match (Springfield and Vintage Rifle). Ammo is not supplied, so bring your own.

Great walk-up reduced yardage match today, with excellent chow and some interesting weather. The fog/snow drifted by the targets and made for some interesting shooting, but no wind to speak of, and not as cold as last year. Pulled bar-b-que venison, and some good manly chili kept the cold at bay. Good turn-out, and good competitive shooting. I managed to medal for my first time since the State Garand match in August of '09, so it was a great day for my program fo sure. I'll post the full results as soon as I can get them.
