Looks like some type of Mauser to me, is there a lever bolt release on the left side of the receiver?

Does it cock on opening or closing?
Close up pics of bolt, safety, L&R sides of receiver, and any markings would help.

Extractor and safety lug on bolt suggest 98 Mauser. Bolt shroud suggests commercial. Need more info to tell whose 98.

Looks like a FN style Gentry, definitely a Mauser action. What we really need to know is, what make of barrel and trigger.
C.E. Bryant was a fine rifle maker and you should be able to find him in the late 50s Shooters bibles.
