I picked up my lower from Kurt on saturday,
& ordered my kit today.

Are there any special tools that I need for the build?
(the kit has an assembled upper)

Do I need a tele-stock wrench? (where to get one?)

Well, beside what the other guys listed, you will need a 5/8" end wrench, a set of punches (roll pin starting punches are nice, but not necessary) hammer, philips or regular screwdriver depending on which pistol grip screw they send you. If you are going with a collapsable buttstock, you will need the wrench to install it. It can be done without it, but they usually get buggered.
You may need to shorten the detent spring for the front take down pin by 2 or 3 loops, so you may need a pair of side cutters.
Complete instructions can be found here:

One more tip: When you install the front detent pin and spring, work under a clear plastic bag. (the type you get from the dry cleaner is perfect) It will save you from 3 hours of cawling on your knees looking for that damned little pin when you launch it (you will!)

Never having built one myself, or even read how to do it, I thought the above was a joke.

chisel, torch, hammer and a jewelers screwdriver?

About 60% of the above advice will cause one of your legs to become longer than the other.

If you have the normal tool chest (that any gun nut usually has), you have what you need. Beyond that, Lowe's and HD have a lot of tools when you see that you need something you don't have.

It really isn't that hard.

I've been meaning to get one of those Zip saws. Now I have a good reason.

After that I should have everything I need to work on your Kimber. Right John.

What size jewler's screw driver? I have a full set of flat, phillips, and torx. Will that work, or do I need square head too?

What kit did you buy?

I ordered the 16" EM-4 CAR kit from Model 1.

Just make sure they're sharp so when you poke yourself in eye because you f---ed up your gun it won't hurt too bad.
